Faire Sans Dire's coat of arms (being the
same as that of Bill Fairclough's family)
Faire Sans Dire was a niche global intelligence agency and investigatory organisation based in London for over forty years. It was formed in 1978 by Bill Fairclough and others, notably Barrie Parkes BEM and Colonel Alan Brooke Pemberton CVO MBE. Bill Fairclough owned and controlled Faire Sans Dire throughout most of his life. Faire Sans Dire's website was frozen on 1 January 2018 and preserved “because of the historical importance of Faire Sans Dire within The Burlington Files series”. It is of note that Faire Sans Dire never had a public website prior to 2010. Faire Sans Dire is still believed to be active in some arenas even though its website has been frozen in time.
Faire Sans Dire's website briefly explains the organisation's history, its past modus operandi, the services it used to provide, its links with Panama and the Panama Papers investigations. To a limited degree, some of Faire Sans Dire's assignments and investigations are disclosed in its website by way of press releases and news articles.
The relevance of The Burlington Files, which is a series of six autobiographical novels based on Bill Fairclough's life, is that it draws on Bill Fairclough's experiences while heading up Faire Sans Dire. Many of Faire Sans Dire's covert assignments are alluded to or referred to throughout The Burlington Files series or in Bill Fairclough's biographies. Only one book in The Burlington Files series, called Beyond Enkription (intentionally misspelt), has been published to date.
